Red Robin is making some serious cuts, and it ain’t just their burger prices. The iconic burger joint is set to close around 70 underperforming locations, and if you’re in Ohio, your local spot might be in trouble.
Why Red Robin is Hitting the Brakes on Some Locations
The company recently spilled the beans in their latest earnings report, revealing that underperforming restaurants will shut down as their leases expire. One location already got axed in late 2024, and up to 15 more could be gone by the end of this year. Over the next five years, more locations are expected to go dark.
So, why the sudden cuts? Losses are piling up. In 2024, Red Robin made $1.25 billion, but that’s $54.5 million less than the previous year. Even worse, they lost $77.5 million in 2024, compared to $21.2 million in 2023. That’s a tough hit.

What This Means for Red Robin Fans
If your go-to spot for bottomless steak fries is on this list, you might want to visit while you still can. Some of these locations might not be around much longer.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Red Robin’s CEO, G.J. Hart, says the company is still focused on making the guest experience better and keeping the brand strong. In simple terms? They’re cutting the weak links to save money and keep the best spots thriving.
What’s Next?
Time will tell which locations actually close, but it’s clear Red Robin is making big changes. If you’re an Ohio burger fan, you might want to keep an eye on your local joint—it could be next on the chopping block.
