If you tried to hop on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning and realized it was totally bugging out, don’t worry — you weren’t the only one. Elon Musk’s X straight-up crashed, and people everywhere were like “Bruh, what’s going on?”. Nobody could post, scroll, or see anything. Major chaos.
When Did X Go Down?
So here’s the deal — according to Downdetector.com (a site that tracks app outages), the meltdown started around 6:30 a.m. ET on Monday. By 9:40 a.m. ET, the number of people reporting the outage jumped to over 40,000. That’s insane! People from the East Coast (like New York and Boston) and the West Coast (like Los Angeles) were hit the hardest.
People were straight-up losing their minds, like “Yo, why can’t I post my meme?”. It was wild.
X Didn’t Say a Word!
Now here’s the crazy part — X didn’t even bother addressing it. No tweet, no post, no announcement — nothing. TheWrap even tried reaching out to X for a comment, but they got completely ghosted. Like, seriously X?
Since X was down, people started flooding Downdetector’s Instagram comments, like “Is X down for y’all too?”. One dude was like “Why you so pressed? Go outside, touch some grass, sunlight is good for you.” 😂 Classic.
What Even Happened?
Honestly, nobody really knows what caused the crash. Maybe it was some major bug, or maybe Elon was trying to make some crazy update. Either way, the app was down for a few hours, and that’s forever in social media time.
Luckily, by around 10:45 a.m. ET, X was back up and running. But still — the damage was done. People were already memeing the heck out of it.

Tesla Took a Huge L Too
But wait — it gets worse for Elon. On the same day X crashed, Tesla’s stock took a huge hit too. Like down 8% in just the first hour of trading on Monday. Ouch.
And here’s the kicker — Tesla stock has been struggling for a minute now. At the start of the year, it was around $380 per share. Now it’s chilling at $241 per share. That’s like a 31% drop in a month. Brutal.
People are saying the stock is dropping because Tesla’s sales aren’t as strong as they used to be, and Elon’s been spending way too much time trying to fix X instead of focusing on Tesla. Makes sense, right?
So What’s Next for Elon?
So yeah — Monday was definitely not Elon’s day. X crashed, Tesla stock got wrecked, and dude didn’t even say a word about it. Like, c’mon bro — at least tweet “We working on it” or something!
Anyway, X is back up now, but Tesla’s still taking the L. Let’s see if Elon can bounce back or if things are gonna keep spiraling.
